Spring 2020 Lookbook

Spring 2020 Lookbook

This Spring, we’re taking it back to the groovy seventies — a time where pastels were a thing of the past for fifties housewives and cookie cutter lifestyles. So leave the boring pastels for the Easter eggs and let's take a walk on the wild side. This year we went for a more muted and neutrals-based palette similar to the Jacquemus “the year 97” winter collection. And since we here at 2nd Street love street wear, we created a collection that features old Hollywood vintage seventies attire mixed with a little bit of street fashion. So sit back, relax, and take a look through the photos below.

This entire outfit feels very retro, and maybe it is because it’s mostly thrifted vintage with no notable names. The leather jacket is not only in great condition, it also has an underrated silk orange lining. The cargo pants bring me back to the nineties when sagging was socially acceptable. The shirt with the rocking collar is Alyx, and the wonderfully textured shoes are Bottega Venetta.

This next look is a bit more streetwear-heavy, however does comply with the muted tones aesthetic. The comfy looking yet still regal blazer is made by Marni. The hoody is made by LA based “controversial” streetwear designer Zac Clark’s FuckThePopulation. Most of FTP’s items are pretty limited run making this a pretty good find for any of our street wear junkies out there. The pants are by MSBHV.

This casual look will have all Venice moms on edge when they see this fly skater guy rolling by without a care in the world. These awesome olive burlap pants are made by the trusty Levi’s. This bougie army print button down is of course made by none other than the North Face. The jacket with a cool suede collar is by Carhartt. Lastly the shoes are you guessed it — Clark’s. Oh and let's not forget that clear green bag by Maison Margiela. Reminds me of a pencil case from the early 2000s.

This two piece matching leather suit is a thrifting goal! The subtle alligator print makes the whole piece even more fly. The striped turtleneck is also a vintage thrift, and adds another layer of texture to the look. The shoes are by Stone Island. The orange shades are by Oliver Peoples.

This united sweater dress may feel like another vintage find, however it is made by Commes de Garcon. There’s so many options and ways to wear the sweater: belt it, wear some cute tights underneath, or as seen with a pair of loose linen pants. I’m normally not a Gucci person, but I have to hand it to this bag, it’s got some great details. From the chain strap to the ornate horse shoe on the opening flap, this bag is sophisticated yet fun. The thick, almost granite appearing, glasses are by Retrosuperfuture. Lastly a vintage polka dotted ascot is used to top the whole look off.

This look says, “IT’S SPRING TIME BABY, and I’m ready to go driving in a convertible down PCH with my lover!” The powder blue dress is paired greatly with another Commes de Garcon jacket. The light leather Louis Vuitton bag matches perfectly with the vintage scarf used to keep those baby hairs out your face. These wonderfully crafted sunglasses are, of course, designed by YSL. And lastly these magical retro seventies boots are made by Chloe.

We return to yet another look which is pretty much all vintage finds, and who knew all these nude tones would look so good paired together? The suede coat with thick stitching details is in pristine condition. The pinks of the turtle neck and beret give the outfit warmth along with their fuzzy texture. They also allow the pink leather Prada bag to tie the outfit together.

This trendy look takes us back into the modern street wear aesthetic but still has a seventies vibe with the dress being reminiscent of hippy burlap dresses. This dress just has a more nuanced take featuring a collar and a zipper-like strip down the middle. The Prada bag is fashionable with its clear handles yet seems very durable due to its athletic material. The Nikes help tie in the nude colors from the Burberry dress.

This last look features a vintage blue rain coat paired with a loose fitting striped dress. The glasses are once again Oliver Peoples. The Louis Vuitton bag is a little worn in, however the size makes up for it. The shoes are featured in a previous look and are by Chloe.

Well, there you have it everyone, our 2nd Street Spring 2020 look book. All of these vintage and name brand pieces alike can be found at our Melrose location. Thanks for dropping by!
